Something Reckless

Co-parenting with the hottest bachelor in pro hockey?
I never signed up for that!
But once Easton Raines discovers the nine-year-old secret I’ve been hiding?
Suddenly, we’re playing by a whole new set of rules.

I’ve spent the past nine years picking up the pieces Easton Raines left behind.
When he left home to play professional hockey, I blocked his number, deactivated my social media account, and tried to put our teenage friendship out of my mind.

Still, forgetting him has been impossible.

Because every time I look into my nephew’s face, it’s Easton’s pale blue eyes I see staring back at me.
Life’s not fair, and I’m all too familiar with carrying the world on my shoulders.
Over the years, I’ve become an expert at turning lemons into lemonade, and doing whatever it takes to make ends meet.

Until out of nowhere, Easton suddenly blows back into town.

His one goal is to heal up from the injury that sidelined his high-profile career.
Then, his life can finally get back to normal.

But once he lays eyes on the son he never knew he had?
Ha! There’s no ‘going back to normal’ after that.

Now, Easton is there at every turn.
With his steady shoulder to cry on. His crystalline eyes I keep falling into. And his limitless bank balance, making all of my problems go away.

He says we should go back to being friends—for my nephew’s sake, of course.
But the fire in his stare says he wants to be so much more.
Meanwhile, my body is screaming that this man can have me.
Any damn way he wants me.

It’s completely reckless. I know.
But when his lips claim mine the way they do?
Reckless is exactly what I want to be.
